What is a congratulations wish on Say Wishes?
It is a short message that arrives with a small celebration. You type who it is for and what you want to say, choose the colors of a stage and copy one link. When the person opens it, they see a stage with velvet curtains pulled back, bunting across the top and a spotlight on the floor, with a glowing ring that says to tap. Each tap sends a firework up to the spot they touched, where it bursts into sparks. After the third, a finale lights up the whole stage and your message appears on a card headed Congratulations. If tapping is awkward on their screen, a button sets the fireworks off for them. There is nothing to install and no account to make.
When should I send one?
Send it whenever someone has good news and you want them to feel it. A new job, a promotion, an exam passed, a wedding or engagement, a new baby, a new home, a race finished or a goal reached all fit. The page does not mention any one event, so you can use the same look for a graduate on Friday and a friend who has just moved house on Saturday. Your own words say what it is for.
Why send a link instead of a text?
A plain text can be read in a second and forgotten. A link that lets the person set off fireworks turns the good news into a moment of its own, and they get to be the one who starts it. It also gives you room to be warm without being long: the fireworks carry the cheer, so your message can be short and sincere.
How does it work?
You fill in a name, a message and a style, and the page builds a link that holds everything you wrote. Nothing is stored on a server, so no one sees your message except the people you send the link to. The fireworks play on the device of the person who opens it. The artwork has no date or event on it, so a wish sent today still makes sense whenever it is opened.
What should I write?
Keep it short and true. A good congratulations message does three things: it says congratulations, it says what you admire about how they got there, and it looks ahead with a wish. Mention something specific if you can, such as the late nights, the risk they took or the way they kept going when it was hard. Two to four sentences are enough, and the limit is 280 characters, so every word counts. You can start from one of the ready-made congratulations messages and change a few words to make it yours.
- For a friend: be warm and a little cheeky, and say when you will celebrate together.
- For family: say how proud you are, and mention a moment you remember.
- For a colleague: keep it generous and brief, and name the achievement.
- For someone far away: say you wish you could be there and promise a call.
Is it free and private?
It is free, with no account and no email address needed. The message is stored only inside the link you copy, and Say Wishes does not keep a copy. Use a first name and keep to things you would be happy for anyone with the link to read.
Other ways to send a wish
If the news came on a birthday, try the birthday cake and candles. For a big-number birthday, see the milestone birthdays page. For midnight on the last night of the year, the New Year’s Eve skyline uses the same fireworks, and for a team, the corporate holiday greeting fits a work thank-you.
