What is a Christmas wish on Say Wishes?
It is a short message that arrives inside a snow globe. You type who it is for and what you want to say, choose a style, and copy one link. When the person opens it, they shake the globe and your words appear. There is nothing for them to install or sign up for.
How do I send one?
- Type their name, your name and your message. The message can be up to 280 characters, about the length of a long text.
- Pick a style and check the preview on this page. Press Replay to watch the globe shake.
- Press Create link, then copy it or send it straight to WhatsApp, Messenger, a text message or email.
Does it cost anything or need an account?
No. There is no account, no app and no payment. Your message is stored inside the link itself, not on a server, so we cannot read it and cannot bring it back if you lose the link. If you want to send the same wish again, keep a copy of the link.
What should I write?
Short and specific beats long and general. Name one thing you are glad about this year, such as a dinner you shared, a favor they did, or a joke only the two of you get. For colleagues and clients, a warm two-line thank-you works better than a speech. For children, keep the words simple and read the wish together when it opens.
When is Christmas?
Christmas Day is 25 December in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Christmas Eve is 24 December. Boxing Day follows on 26 December in the UK, Canada and Australia, among other countries. In Australia, Christmas falls in summer, so a snow globe is a playful nod to the cards people send rather than the weather outside.
When should I send it?
Any time in December. The wish plays when it is opened, not when it is sent, so a link sent a week early still feels new the first time it is opened. If you want a surprise on the day, send it on the morning of the 25th.
Will it work on their phone?
Yes, in any current browser. If they open the link inside the built-in browser of WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook, shaking the phone may not register. The Shake the globe button always works, and no sound plays unless a future version asks first.
Is it safe to share?
The link opens a plain greeting page. Whatever you type is shown as plain text only, and every wish carries a notice that it was written by the sender, plus a link to report anything that should not be there. Only share links with people you know.
