Send a Christmas card from the family and wind the music box

Write a Christmas card from your whole family, pick a music box color and share it as one link. The person you send it to winds the brass key, the music box starts to play and your message appears.

What is a family Christmas card on Say Wishes?

It is one Christmas card that comes from everyone in your home, sent as a small surprise. You type who it is for, add your family name and write a few lines. You choose the color of the music box and copy one link. When the person opens it, they see a wooden music box with its lid open on a snowy night, a little family standing on the stage and a brass key on the side. They wind the key by moving a finger round it for a turn and a half. The box starts to play: the stage turns, notes float up and your message appears underneath. If winding is awkward on their screen, a button winds the music box for them. There is nothing to install and no account to make.

Why a card from the whole family?

A family card is one of the oldest Christmas traditions: a short note signed by everyone, sent to grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, old neighbors and friends who have moved away. It says that you thought of them as a household, not only as one person. Sending it as a link means everyone you care about gets it on the same morning, wherever they live, without stamps or a trip to the post office.

What should I write?

Keep it warm and short. A good family card does one of three things: it says thank you for the year, it shares one small piece of news, or it says you wish you could be together. Use “we” and “our”, and sign it with the family name or the names of everyone in the house. Three or four sentences are enough, and the limit is 280 characters, so every word counts.

Who signs it?

The “From the family” box is for your family name or names, such as “The Taylors” or “Mia, Leo, Mom and Dad”. It holds 30 characters. Use first names only, and leave out addresses, phone numbers and anything else you would not want a stranger to read, because anyone who has the link can see the card.

Can I send it before Christmas?

Yes. The music box plays when the person opens the link, not when you send it, so you can share it any time in December. It also works on Christmas Day itself, or as a thank-you a few days later.

Is it free and private?

It is free, with no account and no email address needed. The message is stored only inside the link you copy, and Say Wishes does not keep a copy. If you would like a keepsake, save the link or take a screenshot once the music box is playing.

Other ways to send a Christmas wish

For a general greeting, try the Christmas snow globe. For the night before Christmas, the Christmas Eve tree lights up when the person drags the star to the top. For a child, the Letter from Santa opens when they break the wax seal.
