Write a kid's letter to Santa and share the wish list

Write your child's letter to Santa, pick a postbox color and share it as one link. The person you send it to drags the letter into the mailbox to read the wish list.

Christmas Day: 25 December 2026

Dear Santa,

I have tried very hard to be kind this year. Please may I have a bike, a book about dinosaurs and a puppy? I will leave out cookies and a carrot for Rudolph.

Love, Max

What is a kid’s letter to Santa on Say Wishes?

It is a short letter in a child’s voice that you can send to anyone who needs to know what is on the wish list: grandparents, aunts and uncles, or the other parent. You type the child’s name and their wishes, pick a postbox color and copy one link. When someone opens it, they see a postbox in the snow and a letter waiting below it. They drag the letter up to the slot, and it drops in. The mailbox flag pops up, snow falls and the letter appears, signed by the child. If dragging is awkward, there is a button that posts the letter instead.

Why post it instead of just sending the text?

A list sent in a message gets read and forgotten. A letter you have to post is a small moment to share. Children like to watch the letter go into the box, and grandparents who live far away get to play a part in the story rather than receive a shopping list. The letter itself stays plain text, so it works as a clear record of what was asked for.

How do I write a good wish list?

Keep it short and specific. Three or four things are plenty, and a child’s own words are better than a perfect list. Start with something kind from their year, add the wishes, and end with a thank you. If you are writing on behalf of a young child, ask them what to put and write it down as they say it. Spelling that is a little wrong is part of the charm.

Can I send one letter to several people?

Yes. The link is the letter, so the same link works for everyone you send it to. Each person posts their own copy of the letter. Nothing is stored on a server, and the child’s name and wishes stay inside the link. Only send it to people you trust, and avoid putting an address, a school or a full name in the letter.

When should I send it?

Early December is the sweet spot, so relatives have time to shop and ship. Christmas Day 2026 is on Friday, 25 December. The letter works at any time, because it plays when it is opened and not when it is sent. If you want the real North Pole treatment for your own child, you can also write a reply on the Letter from Santa page.

Is it free and private?

It is free, and there is no account to make. The letter is stored only inside the link you copy. Say Wishes does not keep a copy and does not ask for an email address. If you would like to keep it for yourself, save the link or take a screenshot after the letter is posted.
