Send a Christmas Jumper Day wish and light the jumper

Write a Christmas Jumper Day message, pick a jumper and share it as one link. The person you send it to taps each bulb on the jumper to switch the lights on, and your wish appears.

Christmas Jumper Day (official date 2026): 10 December 2026 (expected)

What is a Christmas Jumper Day wish on Say Wishes?

It is a short, cheerful message for the day everyone wears their loudest festive jumper, sent as a small surprise. You type who it is for and what you want to say, choose the colour of the jumper and copy one link. When they open it, they see a knitted Christmas jumper hanging up with a string of bulbs across the chest, all switched off. They tap each bulb to turn it on. When the last one lights, the whole string flashes, sparkles drift down and your message appears underneath. If tapping five bulbs is too much on a busy morning, a button switches them all on at once. There is nothing to install and no account to make.

What is Christmas Jumper Day?

Christmas Jumper Day is a day in December when schools, workplaces and families across the UK wear a Christmas jumper and give a donation to Save the Children, which uses the money to help children. Save the Children sets the official date each year, and for 2026 it is Thursday, 10 December. Many schools and offices choose another day that suits them better, and the charity says that is fine. Say Wishes is not connected to Save the Children. This page is simply a fun way to send a greeting on the day.

Who is it for?

It works for anyone you would like to cheer up on jumper day: the colleague who wears the same reindeer every year, a child heading to school in a jumper with a pudding on it, a grandparent who knitted theirs, or a friend you would like to challenge to wear the silliest one. It also works as a thank you to someone who organised the day at a school or an office.

What should I write?

Keep it light and short. A good message does one of three things: it teases the jumper, it wishes the person a good day, or it says thank you for taking part. Mention a detail if you can, such as the flashing lights, the reindeer or who is going to win the prize for the best one. Three or four sentences are enough, and the limit is 280 characters.

Can I send it before the day?

Yes. The lights are switched on when the person opens the link, not when you send it, so you can share it early, on the morning, or even after the day to say well done.

Is it free and private?

It is free, with no account and no email address needed. The message is stored only inside the link you copy, and Say Wishes does not keep a copy. Use a first name and keep to things you would be happy for anyone with the link to read.
